Abstract:
The present study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the Assessment of Basic
Language and Learning Skills – Revised (ABLLS-R) program in developing
joint attention skills among children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder
(ASD). The study sample consisted of two male children with a confirmed
diagnosis of moderate-level ASD, A quasi-experimental design with a single
group was adopted, employing a set of research instruments, including a semi-
structured interview, a joint attention skills questionnaire administered at both
pre- and post-intervention stages, and the ABLLS-R program itself. The
intervention was carried out through a series of structured educational sessions
spanning approximately three months.
The results of the study revealed that the ABLLS-R program significantly
contributed to the development of joint attention skills in children with ASD, as
evidenced by statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-
intervention assessments in favor of the latter
