Abstract:
Our Investigation attempts to find out the parasitic fauna of the house Bunting
(Emberiza Sahari) bird at different stages and types: Ectoparasites, Coproparasites, and
Haemoparasites in the municipality of Metlili, province of Ghardaia. We caught (17 females
and 19 males) by a Japanese bird net during four months of study.
The findings show no sexual dimorphism but a slight differentiation of wingspan and
the third primary feather is not significant.
Regarding results of parasites during the period of our study (Investigation), no
Ectoparasites were found, by the contrary, Coproparasites have observed in 10 birds of the
house Bunting with an estimated infection amount of (27 %), the microscopic examination
allowed to observe a diversity of 05 species, are Strongyloides Sp (7 %), Hymenolepis Sp (14
%), Syngamus trachea (7 %), microfilariae (7%), Coccidia Sp (62 %). As regards
Haemoparasites; found in 22 birds (61 %); we observed and could identify five species, are:
microfilariae (2 %), Hepatozon Sp (2 %), Haemoproteus Sp (19 %), Leucocytozoon Sp (31%),
and Babesia Sp (47 %).
