Debt is one of the legal transactions that Allah almighty has permitted on the condition that it is in a legitimate manner . Therefore , the Islamic law laid down known conditions for it in order to preserve people's money and not to consume it unjustly .The Islamic law enacted penalties for the debtor who delays in paying his debt , such as desertion , imprisonment , flogging , preventing his from traveling and other penalties . The debtor has to be honest and faithful in returning the money to its owner and to remember the worldly and hereafter punishments that the Islamic law has threatened him with . As they are harmful to him , it is benefit to the creditor . On the other hand , the creditor must look at the debtor's condition , whether before or after granting him the debt , and how his money is used by the debtor and in anything he wants to spend , so that he can refuse or accept , for it - that is debt - is a double-edged weapon that can be used for good or for evil , whether from the creditor or the debtor .EN_en
