Abstract: Urban landscapes in Saharan environments are important habitats for bird populations. Understanding the ecology of these populations demonstrates the ornithological value of these specific ecosystems. The present study focused on assessing the diversity and abundance of bird species in the Noumerat region, Ghardaïa wilaya. The point-count method was used for data collection, and the Shannon-Weaver diversity index and correspondence analysis (CA) were employed for data analysis. A total of 26 bird species belonging to 6 orders and 17 families were identified, with the most represented family being Columbidae, consisting of 4 species. The highest values of the Shannon diversity index were observed during the spring season in agricultural environments, reaching a maximum value of H' =2.07. The lowest value was recorded during the autumn season in a semi-urban environment, with an value of H' =0.99. These findings highlight the variability in bird species diversity across different studied habitats and underscore the importance of agricultural habitats for avian biodiversity in the Noumerat region
