Abstract

Insurance Technology (InsurTech) has emerged as one of the most significant innovations driven by the rapid advancement of information and communication technologies and the ongoing digital transformation affecting financial and service industries worldwide, including the insurance sector. This study aims to examine the current state of InsurTech implementation in Algeria by exploring the concepts of digital insurance, highlighting the differences between traditional and digital insurance, and analyzing the role of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and blockchain in transforming insurance activities. The study also investigates the regulatory and legal framework governing the Algerian insurance sector. The research was based on the assumption that the successful adoption of InsurTech within Algerian insurance companies depends on the availability of technical, organizational, and human requirements that facilitate digital transformation and improve insurance services. To achieve its objectives, the study employed a descriptive-analytical approach for the theoretical part and adopted a case study approach for the empirical investigation, focusing on the "MYALLIANCE" platform developed by "ALLIANCE ASSURANCES" Data were collected through interviews and an in-depth analysis of the platform's digital services. The findings indicate that ALLIANCE ASSURANCES has made significant progress in digitalizing its services through the MYALLIANCE platform, which has enhanced customer interaction, simplified administrative procedures, and improved access to insurance services. However, the study reveals that the company's digital transformation remains primarily focused on service digitalization and communication channels, while advanced InsurTech applications, particularly those based on artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and blockchain technologies, are still limited or not fully implemented within the Algerian insurance environment. Furthermore, the findings confirm the validity of the study's hypotheses regarding the importance of technical, organizational, and human requirements in supporting InsurTech adoption. The study concludes that the MYALLIANCE platform represents a promising step toward digital transformation in the Algerian insurance industry, although further efforts are required to expand the integration of advanced digital technologies and strengthen the supporting digital ecosystem
