Abstract:
The Ottoman presence in Algeria had several reasons, the most important of which is
the European conflict on the Algerian coasts, especially Spain, which carried the banner of
the Crusades by recommending the Papal Church, as well as the keenness of Queen Isabel-
la of Castile to occupy the coasts of the western Mediterranean, and the Algerian coasts
witnessed the occupation of Jijel, Bejaia and Algeria since the beginning of the 16th centu-
