Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of entrepreneurial culture on the establishment of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), focusing on the role of entrepreneurial intention as a mediator variable between entrepreneurial culture and the decision to create enterprises. To achieve the study's objectives, data were collected through an electronic questionnaire administered to a sample of 399 students across various faculties at Amar Theleji University in Laghouat. Following statistical processing, several analytical methods were employed, including descriptive analysis (trends of items and dimensions) using SPSS version 24.0, and inferential analysis for hypothesis testing and assessing the impact of independent variables on the dependent variable using SmartPLS version 4.1.1.4. The study examined the influence of dimensions of entrepreneurial culture (creativity and innovation, proactivity and initiative, risk tolerance, self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial motivation) on the establishment of SMEs, with an emphasis on the mediating role of entrepreneurial intention. The results revealed a significant positive direct and indirect effect of all these dimensions on the ability to establish SMEs, with entrepreneurial intention amplifying this effect. No statistically significant demographic differences were found based on gender, age, or field of study. The study underscores the need to support students with training and development programs that enhance competence, innovation, and entrepreneurial intention, alongside providing a supportive institutional environment that facilitates translating intention into successful entrepreneurial actions
