Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the impact of the green economy on foreign trade in Algeria
during the period (2000–2024). The study adopted both the descriptive-analytical and
econometric approaches, using the EViews10 software to estimate a multiple regression
model through the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method.
The descriptive results revealed the dominance of the hydrocarbon sector over Algerian
exports, with an average share of 98.03%, alongside the weak contribution of renewable
energy (0.27%) and high carbon dioxide emissions averaging 3.56 tons per capita. The
econometric results showed a significant positive effect of Gross Domestic Product
(GDP) on exports, and a significant negative effect of CO emissions, while renewable
energy showed no statistically significant effect. The tests also indicated that the model
lacks a long-run equilibrium relationship and is unstable over the study period.
The study concluded that the transition toward a green economy in Algeria still has a
limited impact on foreign trade
